  • Baking lighting into textures?

This is more of a general question at first: Is it possible to bake the lighting (shadows, AO, etc) into the diffuse textures of a small scene?

My scene looks like this for now, mainly there are some Cosmos Assets and another object will be placed on top of the books, but in a different renderer.

What would be amazing though would be to bake the shadows and ambient occlusion into the textures of the existing objects. The goal is that if I only set the color textures of the meshes, I get the same look (more or less) as in V-Ray and can then place my other object in there.

Is this possible with Rhino and V-Ray for Rhino? Or is it easier to use some other DCC software for that?

So I take it this is not possible in Rhino with V-Ray?

In what other tool would it be possible?

Not quite sure what you're asking for, but I'm thinking that post processing with alpha/masks?

I am talking about Baking Light into Textures. I can find it here for V-Ray for Unreal: https://docs.chaos.com/display/VRAYU...20calculations.

and I have also seen it in 3DStudio Max: https://docs.chaos.com/display/VMAX/...ing+with+V-Ray

I guess then, its only possible in those 2 tools.
