  • opacity map on emitter plane material ?

    Hi,
I would like to do something like:
"# place an opacity map on your plane, so close to your objects your plane is fully opaque, and as the plane goes off into the distance it becomes completely transparent, revealing the background (a gradient ramp set to radial would be a good map to use).
    # the same thing, but instead of an opacity map, try a self illumination map, 0% self illumination near your objects, 100% in the distance"

    to to something like this:

But the opacity map in unavailable to set on my beta 13. Is it normal ? what do I miss ?

... you can use the transparency map of the layers. The general opacity options is disabled in all beta releases, but I don't know why.

Because we don't have access to it. I might as well just pull it out of the UI altogether since I don't think we're going to have access to it anytime soon unfortunately. But I suppose using the transparency would work
