Hey people

I have all my music files in a directory on my portable harddrive and now everthing past D has disapeared. I'm talking like 40 gigs here. The harddrive says there is 800 megs free(it's a 130 gig) but when I select all the files it only comes up to 90 gigs so I think the data is there but just not showing up for some reason.

Anybody have some good advice on how to get my music back?

I would suggest checking out customer support forums / knowledge bases of the company that made the harddrive - this may have happened to other users. I've never personally had anything like this happen to me before. I'm sure there are data recovery programs out there that may be of some assistance to you. I guess just try googling for "Data Recovery" or something like that after you check the harddrive manufacturers web site out
