  • Format vs quality tips and post-process

    Rendering 4000px x 4000px
deadline is short, as usual (:

I'm positively sure that the client won't use all the pixels of this image.

To reduce the rendering time, I was wondering rendering it in 3000 x 3000.
Then resize 4000px x 4000 px and postprocess in photoshop.

    any other good advice ?

    thanks.

    O.

By the way, it could be interesting to have some more tutorials about post-process technics and tips, I know Asgvis forum might not be the best forum to talk about this, but I'm pretty sure that V-ray for rhino users are going to be interested about getting faster and neeter result.

    Olga,

I think this is a question only you can answer. Only you know what your client will tolerate and what they wont.

Rendering at a lower resolution and scaling up in Photoshop is always risky. However, it all depends on the type of out put your aiming for.

For example, a 10"x10" image at 300dpi can only res up to 30"x30" if 100dpi is the output you need for best clarity.

    Regards,
    Bill
