  • night scene render

Hi, I am working on a treehouse project and I need to render an outdoor night scene and I am really lost. I am using michas grass technique for the ground but that's about it. Any tips or help with the lightning and enviroment will be more than welcome
    thanks a lot!!!

      Re: night scene render

HDRI (Millions brightness steps) can contain more brightness steps than standard images (255). HDRI is good for lighting a scene with contrastful lighting (light-shadow-ratio). You can use a standard 360° JPG too - the lighting is softer, maybe like an overcast sky. But for a night scene this isn't important, a night sky isn't a contrastful light source, so if you found a nice night panorama, than use it (and post a link - good to know where is one to found).

For example I would use this sky for a late evening scene:

It's no problem, that it is a LDRI Jpg, because all light inforamtions of the sky match the 8bit image, a HDRI wouldn't show more here.

Hi, I'am trying to help Sofia with the sky scene. Do anyone know when to use Spherical, Mirror Ball, Cross Hdri? We are modeling something like a big backyard. ( night sky)

        Thanks

            Re: night scene render

I would try to mix some panorama textures. Here I found star panoramas:

But if you like a ready solution, than you could spend 99$ here

What do you think? I don't know why but I prefer the last one. This looks really strange.

                Re: night scene render

Maybe the sky environment isn't set as reflection environment.

                Here an other night sky:

                      Re: night scene render

set the maps at the VfR background slot and set texture UVW type environment. This textures are spherical maps.

Moon - I don't know, but your background looks stretched.
