  • Render Edge Curves, wireframe, hidden lines

    Hi,

Is there a way to render the edge curves, or wireframe, or hidden lines?

    Is there a tutorial somewhere?

    thanks

Re: Render Edge Curves, wireframe, hidden lines

For edge curves, you could use the V-Ray Toon material. For wireframes, there's no way to do that other than a significant hack that was posted in the thread below. Hidden lines are not really possible at the moment.

      Thanks Dolomar!

Which version of Vray for Rhino does the VrayToon material work with? Does it come with the software or can you download that Material. And is there a good reference on how to use VrayToon Material for Rhino?

      thanks alot!

The most recent service release has the toon material. You can download it from the link below

          Also try Technical Shader

There is a free plug-in called Technical Drawing Display Mode on the Rhino Labs site. It has both a silhouette and hidden line feature which gives some NICE results.

          Rhino Labs: http://en.wiki.mcneel.com/default.as...oHomeLabs.html
          Technical Display: http://en.wiki.mcneel.com/default.as.../TechDraw.html

Since this is a real-time viewport feature -- and not 'rendered' -- you'll need to use the following trick to generate images that are larger than than your physical monitor / viewport size. In the command line, type -ViewCaptureToFile

Note the use of the hyphen BEFORE the command. The hyphen is required to use this 'hack,' which then allows you to set a desired output size for the viewport, such as 3000 x 2000 pixels.
