I noticed this image on Facebook.

Can someone assist me in getting a material preview inside of rhino like that. Outside of the material editor.

    Thanks,

    Hi Brian
Those materials are from V-Ray Express toolbar. The toolbar is located in this directory C:\Program Files\Rhinoceros 4.0\Plug-ins\VRayForRhino\Misc. To open it , select on Rhino Main menu, Tools, then Toolbar layout, selec file, open.

The toolbar itself is simply a collection of macros that load a specific material from a specific location. It uses the visLoadVismat command, then has the path after words. You can also use the visApplyMaterial command, then the name of the material to actually apply that to a selected object. The icons were render, saved, then added to the toolbar.
