Re: Do you like to get self posed high quality mesh people?

Micha yea, use that Max Demo on every single computer of yours!

I've given Truespace a try just now. Unfortunately, I didn't find a way to import the .obj file. It says, I should switch from Modelspace to Workspace, but the flag isn't there ???
If you get it loaded, please tell me!
Because apart from that (and playing around with the rigged models that came with the download), it looks pretty well!

    3Ds Max workflow:
The models from the site you mentioned come as .max files
I opened the .max file in Max, the skeleton is attached to the model straight away.
Not sure about .fbx import, there are points in the model but you can't use them as bones - haven't figured this one out yet...

    @Mark:
Right, exporting from Max as .obj makes for an easy transfer! How is the re-texturing in Rhino when exporting as .3ds?

Truespace wasn't free in the past (600$), but since Microsoft adopt it, it is free. It can be used to create content for Virtual Earth (Microsoft) and ... . So, it's like SketchUp and Google Earth.

            Nice Job Matthias....

about Micha´s work and knowlegde i wont even comment. I wonder when i will reach your levels....but i am learnig fast. Soon i think i can post, in gallery, something.
Matthias: just to make clear about ".obj" issue: the textures of Max´s Vray come WITH the model to Rhino? or just the UV coordenates? because (maybe because my vray for Max is "in Bug") my imported model in Rhino didnt came with textures.

            Thanks all

              Thanks man!
Concerning .obj files: It's just the coordinates you need to create and assign a material yourself!

              Cheers,

Re: Do you like to get self posed high quality mesh people?

Micha this was one of the models from the site, opened in max and very quickly put in a seated position.
The model and textures were then exported out as an obj file and imported into rhino.
Small test render in rhino below. Is this the sort of thing your are looking to achieve?

                  Hi Marko,
I'm currently doing an automotive project at uni and would really like to pop a model like this into my scene to show people sitting/interacting with the interior. I have the same problem as micha where It would only be a one off and wouldn't even need to do it once a week. I would only need one or two people to stick into my scene. Would we be able to organise this somehow? I know its a big favour but I could send you a mesh from Rhino which you could use to rig the people up.

Thanks for sharing this info with us but I just can't afford to buy the software and more importantly learn it before my deadline. Its also purely for educational purposes if that helps and I would of course be willing to pay for the favour.

                  Yours Hopefully
                  Kyle

Simple solution - 3D Print screen. Now I can simple pose the mesh model per Animeeple and get the pose saved as 3dxml. This file format can be read for example by the SimLab composer, from where I can save it as OBJ for Rhino.

                      Micha,
;D dunno whether this is a 'simple' solution, but thx for sharing this tool!!
                      Already downloaded it...

                      Cheers,
