I'm running Rhino/V-Ray on a virtual machine, which I log in to via Remote Desktop Connection. On certain files, if I minimize the RDC window, any images that process while the RDC window is minimized turn out blank. Any idea what's happening?
Further details that may or may not be significant:
(1) I'm not using the V-Ray batch renderer; I found it easier to roll my own in RhinoScript.
(2) I'm using distributed rendering with 9 slave renderers running DRSpawner. All machines are running Windows XP.
(3) If I leave the RDC window open but have other windows in front of it, obscuring the V-Ray frame buffer window, everything still works fine.
(4) For each image, I first open a file containing the rendering environment (background, lighting, etc.), and then import the objects to be rendered. This problem appears to occur with only one of those environment files (so far).
(5) I did not set up the rendering environments; that was done by a group of artists who know far more about V-Ray that I do. My job is to render the whole process.
Any help anyone can provide will be much appreciated.
