    Hi Guys,

I'm trying to save an image in the new RT 2.0 window, but when i press the save image button it only saves the alpha channel or is just a black background when there is no background. Am i missing something.....can you save a RT image? (and BTW, the alpha channel button is not activated)

    Cheers

    Hi Justin
Yes, something weird is happening when you save an image as .png and the alpha channel is enable. What you can do is save the image with another format (.tiff, .jpg, etc.) or if you want to save it as .png, you will have to go to the VFB channel panel and disable the alpha channel.

        Ok, i found it...sorry.

However, still cant get a transparent background....seems to be a bug.

Also if you render a glass ball you cant get the alpha to work to let the transparency through........can this be fixed?

        cheers

Yes, this is a bug. You could use .tiff with the alpha. This is working fine. Then you can change the format to .png in photoshop or any other photo editor software if you want.

            Hi there,

But this still doesn't solve the clear glass issue as the alpha channel is just black and white....

            Thanks

There is and option on the refraction layer for the standard materials and on the refraction area on the BRDF material called "affect channel". This option has to be set as "color and alpha" to be able to get the correct alpha for glass material.

                Hi Fernando,

It all works fine in the normal render window - the alpha channel saves and has transparency on the glass.......its just in the RT window that it fails.

                Cheers

                  Hi Justin
Thank you for the clarification. Can you make a bug ticket by sending an email to vfrwip@chaosgroup.com? In this way we can have a better track of the bugs.

                  Thanks
