  • Question to Chaos Group about animating proxies

Hey I was checking out VRay 3.6 for Sketchup YouTube video and noticed the animated swaying pine trees. I could not make out what program used to create them. Would love to do that in Rhino if possible..... when 3.6 arrives.

Apparently it's a new feature coming in 3.6.. Proxies will have their own animation settings, and some other proxy-like object (called *.abc) will be supported too....

I too, am SUPER excited for this feature... just hope we're able to a) buy animated proxies and b) make our own animated proxies somehow....

I hope so too. I just browsed around and found that there are now a ton of addons to Sketchup.

This was recently discussed in https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...628#post976628 .
The VRayProxy animation support in v3.6 will be identical to what was recently implemented in V-Ray 3.6 for SketchUp.

        Kind regards,
        Peter

          Very, very exciting news.

One question; I understand that the proxies will have their own animation settings, but how will these relate to rendering (processing) the animations? Ie; will the loop automatically 'play' when I do a standard rhino animation render, will the loop of the proxy have 'frames' that correlate to the number of frames I render out... lots of potential queries!

          Looking forward to the update!

By default proxy animation frames are synched with Rhino animation's frames. For the rest of your questions, see the options described here https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...tionParameters
