    Hi,

i think we should have a reflectlion pass in the v-ray buffer like in max

and second, a ramp-like option should be very nice for fresnel effect !

and third a little question :

is vray limited to 2048 pixel wide for rendering ?

it's a bit small for print output at 300 dpi...

previous beta builds of vray were limited. I can't recall the exact size it was, but there should be no more limits on the rendering. Are you experiancing something preventing certain resolutions?

    [edit]
As far as the "reflection pass" I'm assuming you mean a channel that shows the reflections. That is currently unavaiable through the current VRaySDK materials. The same goes for self-illumination, refraction, and a couple others

Nah - this was a long time ago. The only limits on resolution are your memory...and if you start going above your memory's limits then you just need to render to a VRImage.

            Here's Corey's tutorial on large res rendering/vrimage. http://www.asgvis.com/VfRtw/bin/view/VfR/TutorialA

Basically with vrimage format each bucket, once its finished, is written to a file as opposed to a regular rendering where it is kept in memory. This info is also in a completely raw format, meaning that all of the information that is available/usable within the framebuffer is there (like a gi channel or refraction channel). Imagine the rendering equivelent of your camera's raw format. This also means that in order to use this format it needs to be converted. For download we have a vrimage to openexr format converter which can do this. Hope this is helpful.

To be honest I haven't really messed with it. It always is a bummer to have to do a 4-8 hour test...then realize you messed up with one little thing. I'll get around to it though
