  • Texture import window doesn't vanish after importing (MAC)

    Hello,

Every time I'm importing texture using Asset Editor then Finder/browser window does not disappear after choosing proper file and hitting a button. Window goes back, so after short time I have about 30 windows opened... I'd appreciate any comments how to get rid of this issue.

    Best regards,
    Marlena

Hi, I've tested this on my Mac but I haven't seen this behaviour. So after you clicked the "open" button the browserwindow doesn't close? Is the bitmap loaded by V-Ray?

One thing I do miss with the newer versions (since 3.6) is that the browserwindow doesn't remember the last folder it was showing. For instance, I browse to a folder textures/brick/brick01 to find a diffuse map. Then for the bumpmap that is in the same folder I have to navigate to the folder again. It used to show the same folder. I hope that made sence?
Sorry I hijacked the thread a little bit.

    Best,
    Peter

      Hey Peter!

So maybe this is case of my configuration only? Actually i suffer from so many issues and problems with SU18+V-Ray3.6 that i'm totally frustrated... If I wrote all them down you wouldn't believe me.

What should I do to make it work? Reinstall SU and V-Ray? I really miss my SU16 and v2.0...

      Cheers,
      Marlena

        Hello, Marlena,
We were not able to reproduce the issue you've described. I was told you have an arrangement for live assistance tomorrow with a colleague of mine. I've advised him of the reported issue. As for the other problems you've encountered, please let tell us about each of them either during the live session or you can list them in this forum thread.

peerman , there was a change in the tools used to build our UI on MacOS. The behavior you described will be reviewed and the dev team will look into bypassing the current limitation.

        Kind regards,
        Peter

          Hey!

Peter.Chaushev , peerman - thank you for replying! I assume that there still is hope for my engagement with V-Ray 3.6 .

Unfortunately I was nable to join this session you've mentioned, but in this case I definitely will ask you for another chance next week!

Could you please advice me on something in the meantime? I can't stand those V-Ray windows being 'on top' with no chance to hide/minimize them during render... Is ther any way to do it?

          Regards,
          Marlena

            Hi Marlena,

The asset manager can be closed during rendering as well as the framebuffer. The render won't stop when you close the framebuffer. You can also press te yellow button top left corner to minimize the window to the dock.

            Best,

              Hi peerman !

Unfortunately yellow (minimise) button is disabled in frame buffer window This is why I posted that issue. Any ideas?

              Regards,

You can just close the frame buffer and the render will continue. If you want to see the framebuffer again you can click the framebuffer icon in the toolbar. But indeed it is strange that this button is greyed out. The yellow button is on the asset manager dialog so I guess it would be possible.
