  • V-Ray NeUI has encountered a problem and needs to close.

    Hi,
I had this error message after a successful batch render finished (30 images).

    {"name":"vray-neui","hostname":"BPL31","pid":9780,"level":60,"er r":{"message":"EPERM: operation not permitted, unlink 'C:\\Users\\MARCO~1.KLE\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\vra y-telemetrics (V-Ray for SketchUp).30-Sep-2018.log'","name":"Error","stack":"Error: EPERM: operation not permitted, unlink 'C:\\Users\\MARCO~1.KLE\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\vra y-telemetrics (V-Ray for SketchUp).30-Sep-2018.log'","code":"EPERM"},"msg":"EPERM: operation not permitted, unlink 'C:\\Users\\MARCO~1.KLE\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\vra y-telemetrics (V-Ray for SketchUp).30-Sep-2018.log'","time":"2018-10-07T00:00:00.004Z","v":0}

Can someone give me a hint on what this might mean?

    **Software:**
Version of SketchUp Pro is 18.0.16975 64bit.
    Version of VRay is 3.60.03.
    Windows 10 Pro

    **Hardware:**
    Intel i7-8700@3.2GHz 12 threads
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
    32GB RAM

    Thanks,
    Marco

    Hello, Marco,

This appears to be caused by failure of the V-Ray UI (called NeUI) to delete one of its log files.

In order to prevent clogging your hard drive with logged data, we only keep log files from the last 7 days. By default, every night (at midnight) a new log is created in place of the oldest one.
Perhaps the oldest log file was in use, most likely by another instance of V-Ray for SketchUp.
If you manage to reproduce the issue ever again, could you please do the following:
    1. Open Windows Task Manager
    2. Check the Processes list for any additional SketchUp and/or vrayneui processes.
    3. Open the Performance tab, select the CPU and check its Up time. Does the timer exceed 7 days?

If the issue occurs often, you should be able to prevent it by deleting all V-Ray .log files in your Temp folder.
We'll investigate this behavior on our end. Thank you for reporting it!

    Kind regards,
    Peter
