  • Vray installation errors

Hi! Each time when I run a new installation of Vray I get such an error saying "Installation errors summary: FAILED to remove C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2020\SketchUp\Plugins". Yet looks like everything works fine. Does it matter? So why am I asking? Here is probably an issue on my desktop where this error occurs in comparison with my laptop where I haven't been able to get the same error during installation. That is to say that I suppose there is something can be may be connected with that because I almost never get freezing Vray on a laptop while I often get freezing on the desktop and сonsequently I have to restart SketchUp because of Vray stop responding. I can not reproduce it exactly showing when it happens and my desktop much more powerful than the laptop. It can be certainly said that freezing on my desktop appears when I am manipulating something with materials, lights, moving models during interactive rendering is going on and no matter how heavy the project is.

    You can try uninstalling manually.
Delete the 'vfs' files and folders from it and then re-install.

done, I've deleted these files manually and reinstalled the setup. But now these errors have been shown. Is that fine?

If V-Ray loads correctly in SketchUp you should be fine.

It loads correctly but today I got this message and can't render my scene at all. After building light cache the render stops. Unfortunately, I can't share the project here but can show you private via teamviewer connection session if possible.

You can try updating your GPU driver.
I can see it's a GPU crash but I might not be able to debug it remotely.

Can you please share a stripped down version of the scene that causes the same crash?

Did this happen prior to the update 2.1 release?

I did some other render scenes today and that was fine. I'm not sure if it's only with this 2.1 release. I'll try now to update my GPU drivers.

Updating GPU drivers didn't helped even after Windows restart. But I just hided all the objects in the scene and show them again and moved the camera a little bit and now the rendering is working fine... Strange things

Glad to hear you've managed to overcome the problem! If you happen to keep a version of your scene that reproduces the crash, we're very interested in taking a look at it.

                  Regards,
