    Hello, kyle_henderson ,
Have you reached out to support@chaosgroup.com yet about this issue?
Some of our test systems are double-display setups with identical or different display scales but I am not familiar with what you describe.

Could you please answer a few questions to help me get a better idea of what may be causing all this?
    1. What is your OS and what is the custom scaling percentage value for each of your main and secondary displays?
    2. Does the problem occurs with every scene you render or only specific ones?
    3. How exactly does the VFB become unusable / not functioning as expected when running CUDA renders? Any details, as well as render progress logs will be appreciated!
Additionally, please try the following - make sure SketchUp is closed, then go to %APPDATA%\Chaos Group\V-Ray for SketchUp and delete FrameBufferState.fbs
Run SketchUp again and see if this resolves the faulty VFB behavior.

    Looking forward to your reply!

      Hello Peter.Chaushev,

Thank you for the offer of assistance, it is appreciated. I have however already uninstalled Vray 5, I intend on reevaluating at a later time.
As a side note, uninstallation failed with a Chaos Group Installer Error "Exctacting (sic) information for installation failed"
Is there by chance a Vray cleanup utility?

Thank you Peter and good luck.

        Hi kyle_henderson,

The VFB issues you're describing are indeed happening from time to time.
Unfortunately we still haven't found a reliable way to reproduce the behavior and debug it.

        I have one tip though.
When the VFB appears but is nowhere to be seen on the screen you can do the following:
        - Make sure it's in focus (click on the VFB button for good measure)
        - Hit 'Alt' + 'Space' - this should show the window properties near the edge of your screen
        - Use the down arrow key to select 'Move' and hit 'Enter'
        - Click one of the arrow keys once more and the VFB will stick to your mouse cursor
        - Place it anywhere you like

Reverting to previous stable release as v5 seems rushed. My apologies for the quickly written reply.
Note that most issues with the new VFB are mostly happening on multi-monitor high DPI systems (and non-standard scaling) and are quite hard to catch and fix.
We'll do our best to improve this experience as quickly as possible.

I'd like to note that I love what I'm seeing in v5 features, just needs another pass through QC and QoL adjustments here and there (not resizing windows upon initiating renders, changing full screen to restore down, just to give examples).
        Thanks for the feedback.
We are often times focused on new and exciting functionality, forgetting about little things that affect users in a big way.
We'll do our best to address as many of those issues as possible in the upcoming hotfixes.

        Regards,
        Konstantin

          Thank you, Kyle,

Regarding the uninstallation error - there is no additional cleanup tool beside the uninstaller.
If you want to ensure everything is cleaned from your system, I or my colleagues from our Support team can help out.

I am having the same issue. As soon as I start a render, I get an instant bugsplat. Even with no geometry other than the sketch-up scale figure. I have tried gpu and cpu. CPU will start to render then splat. GPU splats immediately. I am using SketchUp Pro 2020 version 20.2.172 64 bit. and Vray for SketchUp 5.00.01. I had the issue with 5 beta as well, so I uninstalled and waited for the stable release because I had no time to deal with it at the time. HELP PLEASE! Thanks!

              Hello, Logan,
II'm sorry to hear you've had such experience with the last few builds!
We've patched up a few problems in the v5.00.02 hotfix that was just released. Please give it a try. It is available for download at https://download.chaosgroup.com/?platform=56&product=47

If the problem persists, please leave SketchUp closed after a crash occurs. Locate the VRayForSketchUp.log file in %APPDATA%\Chaos Group\V-Ray for SketchUp and SketchUp .dmp file in %TEMP% and then send them over to support@chaosgroup.com
My colleagues and I will be able ot assist you further based on this info.

If you use other 3rd-party extensions beside V-Ray, please try running SketchUp only with V-Ray enabled to see if the problem is due to a plugin conflict.

              Regards,
              Peter
