  • VRay Light List / Deleting Lights

OK, I'm sure I'm doing something wrong...

Set up my scene. Imported a light from Cosmos. Converted part of its geometry to a mesh light (which didn't actually illuminate in my scene... what is the best way to actually make a Cosmos light illuminate, by the way?). I then duplicated the proxy 10 times and rendered. Realized that the lights wouldn't actually work/illuminate and deleted the proxies to try something different. Re-rendered but my Lightmix rollout in the VFB still lists all 10 lights which no longer exist in my scene. Tried using the Purge option in Vray AND Sketchup. Tried deleting my Lightmix render element and recreating it but all 10 lights still show up. Where is VRay seeing those lights in my scene and how do I delete them?

    Cheers

    Hey andy_smith,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing such issues. I can't seem to reproduce this behavior, is it possible to forward us a screen-recording of what's happening so we're sure to follow the exact same steps?

Other than that, playing with the Intensity/Units values of the lights should provide you with the desired result, depending on what illumination you want to achieve.

      Hi Nikoleta,

Sure - what’s the best way to send you a recording? Do I need special software for that? I’m on Windows 10 Pro.

      Thanks
      Andy

You could use ShareX for example, if you can upload a file here, that would be great, if not - you can forward it via our contact form, just make sure to mention this thread (or my name) in the subject. Also, please specify the exact V-Ray/SketchUp versions used.
