adding fur?

Hi guys just learning sketchup and Vray day 1
I cant seen to add fur to my object.

1. create a plane and extrude
2. create component
3. add fur with generic material
4 No results..
What could I be missing?

Hello stezza,
You need to add "grass" to the naming of the V-Ray Fur to make it work in Vision. Please refer to this forum post.

Hi stezza,

Keep in mind that V-Ray Vision is not the primary rendering engine in V-Ray.
I'd strongly recommend you go through at least the introductory part of our Coursware.
The introductory part is done with V-Ray 3.x but the same principles apply.

You can find out more about V-Ray Vision here.
Note that Vision is not a feature we intend to update in the future.
It is in maintenance mode ever since our merger with Enscape.
Nowadays the best Chaos solution for game-engine like realtime rendering is Enscape (sold as a separate product).
