  • İmpoting VrayScene overexposure problem

    Hi
I use sketchup 2019 and Vray6 the latest version. My laptop is i7 12 gen processor and Nvidia 4080 gpu, 32 gb ram.

When i import a Plant Factory tree into sketchup, apply all materials settings and export as VrayScene, and import that scene into my work, it brokes my lightning setup and causes overexposure. No problem export-import as proxy.

Am i doing something wrong? How can i fix it?

Edit: If i use more than one copy of it, every one of them multiplies the exposure .. May be VrayScene files are not meant to be used as proper proxy files..

    Thanks..

I suspect that the vrscene you're importing contains light sources which cause the issue somehow.

You can try disabling the lights import from the V-Ray Scene Importer Options:

Hi thank you. I tried to import from file-import-Vrayscene and adjust the settings as you mention, but nothing is imported. I remember when the first time Vray scene introduced, file-import option was not working on sketchup exported Vrscene files, only worked with import proxy option.. Since then i always use import proxy and it worked every time, but all Vrscene files i used was from 3ds max.. Your settings gave me an idea, i disable all lights including sun and environment background and then export Vrscene, and import proxy option worked as expected.. It is fine for me now..

      Thanks again..

        Hi,

I did not realise what you're after.
If you're just importing a Proxy Scene and rendering it as a reference then there is an option to disable lights that can be toggle in the asset editor:

Thank you, i can not believe i missed that checkbox.. Of course i saw it, but i couldn't link it to the sun, tought it was about rectangle light etc. I didn't thought sun is saved in vrscene. That solved my problem.

I am preparing a youtube video, about exporting trees from plant factory, importing into sketchup, making vray material settings, exporting as vrscene and prğxy, and using that vrscene and proxies in another work. In my normal workflow i never need vrscene files, so i don't have proper knowlegde about it. While recording the video, i was saying "you can export and use as either vrscene or proxy file, but you can not use vrscene file as vray scatter instance" then i made a few copy of it and render and my render was washed out. I couldn't find a solution, that is why i open this topic.
