material problem in beta 4

  • material problem in beta 4

    I wrote this as a bug(sorry if its not) because when i downloaded beta 4 and used it all my 3ds are rendered as they are without texture. Am i missing something like the scale, but still they were all fine at beta 3

    Ok - I'll check that out when I get in the office today. Are you having issues with all textures? Or is this only happening when you import a 3ds?

      with all textures. It is the same sketchup file i was usin with beta 3.

      All textures; grass and tiles and even the texture in "face-me" model jeo.

      The model isnt an import; I modelled it at sketchup 6

        is it possible that all of your textures are tga files? I found that the Sketchup texturewriter does not seem to like tga files for some reason. I had changed the way I handle tga files - in beta 3 I would rename them internally so it would write out jpgs instead, but to speed up my scene parsing I stopped working it like that.

          nope foexample the grass is Vegetation_Grass_Artificial.jpg maybe there is something wrong with the scale factors, but it wasnt supposed to effecct on a "face me" human model than, wasnt it?

            I'm sorry - I'm not following what you mean by "face me". Perhaps thats something I'm not accounting for? I'm a programmer, so I'm not completely up to date on all the different SketchUp features. Could you walk me through this?

                could you post a picture of the trouble-scene? I downloaded the 2d picture and rendered it and it seems to work on my end - where did the artificial grass come into play?

                    ok I found out the source of my problem; when i take a material from outside the sketchup i seem to get proper render so my sketchup materials are messed up; i also have SU 6 and VFS installed on another computer and i take renders from my model in that computer just fine(with textures) but mine is all messed up...

                      I think i am losing it. I tried everything: I set the settings to the same as the settings on other computer: I even copied everyfile and pasted on mine but still the damn materials doesnt seem to show themselves textured :'(

                      I setuped and removed all the programs again and again; there is only one solution left but to format the computer I think but i am afraid that the beta will not continue. I formated the other computer before with beta 3 on it and when i did setup it said no register file or somethin...


                      Help me Obi1, your my only hope!!!

                        One of the problem I noticed in Beta 4. Is that diffuse map (when using a image) switch all the time to channel 2 instead of 1 ... As a result I have only the color of the map ... nothing else. The switching between the map on that particular project i was working on seems to appear when I change the output size of the image.

                        Did anybody else had that problem ???

                            That is very odd - I haven't personally experienced anything like that with my builds. Can you tell me what is different between the two machines? Different versions of SketchUp? Different operating systems....something?

                              Beta4 dont work with texture scale, this is big problem, when this problem finish.
