Maby you can switch to render a Vray raw image. I use is for large scale renders 4000X3000. your preview window will act strange, but I think that is a bug. after your render is complete you can convert the image back to I beleve EXR. and adjust in photoshop.

Re: Vray crashes on 50 meg file

Any time you see an image that you can render smaller, but won't when its bigger, then its a memory issue. 9.9 times out of 10 rendering to vrimage will take care of it. Because SU models aren't the most efficient when it comes to dealing with high poly scenes, you'll probably run into that ceiling earlier than if you were doing it in another program.

The display when rendering to vrimage is not a bug. The goal of rendering to vrimage is to be able to render memory intensive scenes, not displaying them nicely. The way vrimage displays a render (no zooming, a few bucket artifacts) is because it saves memory to not have to think about those things. Also, turning LC and IR previews off will help save memory as well (less to display).

          hi dalomar
i understand that u need a converter to convert the vrimage to openEXR but i cant seem to find the zip file, its not in the the tools section of the download area... also i believe u have to drop it somewhere in ur programe file to install it? if i am correct in thinking this please could u tell me how to do it...

i appologies if this issue is being revisited
