Exception: Memory allocation failure

Hello, I started getting this bug just last week... it never happened before... is it possible that its related to Sketchup 7.1 (which I installed recently)???


Basically, what happens is that I start rendering and it all runs normal until the final pass (after all prepasses). Then some (or many) of the squares get black instead of showing the image.

The error of the topic title appears on the Render Progress Window... DURING the prepass...

then, after it completely finishes rendering the image, I get a bugsplat!

Hey guys, This error means just what it implies. You have run out of available memory (RAM) you will need to simplify the model or enable DR. It could also be a corrupt material so I would not shy away from testing with the Override materials feature turned on just to be sure.

Ohh ohh that too, good idea.

Distributed rendering was what I was thinking about, more computers more memory, doesn't always work for these issues but when it does, boy howdy does it work miracles.

in my situation.. the problem was the texture.. and the sketchup file..
i've copied the whole model in a new file.. without textures.. and then.. reapplied the textures..

but now.. i've another problem.. if chose how render engine, irradiation map for primary engine.. and light cache for secondary engine.. when the system do the first pass, (calculating light cache..) all the render remain black.. and nothing happened.. i've wait for 20 minutes.. but the render doesn't go on.. need to choose how secondary engine QMC..

why this?? usually use light cache because for test render is too quickly.. can you help me??

there's gotta be another explination. i have a new 4 gb pc and i've already have that message. the render runs normally and by the fourth pass it just doesn't do anything.
it has just happened with a couple of models and i fixed it only by restarting the pc.
some times maps also give me problems, but they give me the bugsplat only by updating the material preview.

Sketchup is a 32bit application, it will begin to buckle when memory usage coves above 1.5-2GB. It can't address the full amount of memory on the machine. 32bit applications can only address max 2GB RAM - unless you change some special system setting (which recommend you don't change. I've tried it, as well as other people at my office - we all experienced oddities in the system and system instability after that. Had to evert back to default settings.)
