Bigbridge - You actually weren't a part of the beta testing group, so I don't know what you downloaded. I don't think it was the latest beta version though. I have added you to the testing group, I assume you desire to test the latest version out to see if it solves your problems. I look forward to hearing if the latest beta fixes the crash you mentioned . Please look for the VfSU BetaTesting forum. Look for a post titled: "WIP Releases >>ALWAYS THE LATEST<<" to find the latest beta version that is available for download.

Well we have finally put out a patch that will resolve many issues that have been reported since 1.48.66 was released. It will not fix all of the bugs though. We just wanted to help out anyone that was still unable to install, and the majority of the folks out there that were unable to render many scenes with 1.48.66. The general agreement was that we had a beta version which was better than our released version, so we should get it out the door to as many customers as we could.

We plan on developing yet another patch, which will take care of a few other nagging issues such as not being able to render due to issues with imported images, duplicate component definition names, or 2sided materials not being upgraded properly from old scenes. There will be some other issues addressed as well. If you have already signed up to be a part of our testing group, you are automatically a part of the beta testing for this new patch. If you haven't signed up, and would like to join us on this mighty bug hunt, just let us know by replying to this thread. We check to see if there have been any responses every day or two, and add anyone that seems interested in testing.

We would like to thank anyone who has helped us by testing any of our beta versions in the past, you have helped make the product what it is today! We look forward to getting more of your feedback about the current state of the product, and using that feedback to make it even better. With that said, LET THE MIGHTY BUG HUNT BEGIN!
                Best regards,

i want to in the test.
                  first 3 comments:
                  1. .png file is not supported, if supported, no transparent map needed
                  2. image in the scence is not spproted, if yes, some object like portraint can be easily built up, no neet to map a face again.
                  3. not avi output support
                  4. defult material is not what was set by style settings, it show up as wierd color, I dont know where it comes from

                  Generally it's great anyway.

my previous file still can not be rendered, I tried all the debug tools, and clik the render, then processing the scean, then nothing happen. it will be great if this can be fixed, otherwise all the other features is meaningless.

JASON.DONG - Okay, you've been added to the testing group. So far the latest version that has been released is the same as the latest beta version. After it was tested for a couple weeks, we released it. There will be a new beta version soon. To address your concerns:
                      1. .png file is not supported, if supported, no transparent map needed
There's a checkbox in the diffuse layer of the material. "use color texture for transparency" It will use the transparency of the color texture instead of the color or map you have set in the transparency settings. The reason we don't automatically grab transparency information, is that some png files have weird transparency maps that cause some very unexpected results sometimes, so by default we don't use it.

                      2. image in the scence is not spproted, if yes, some object like portraint can be easily built up, no neet to map a face again.
There is a known bug with imported images and component definitions that share the same name, these will be fixed in the next beta version.

                      3. not avi output support
That's a feature request, not a bug, please don't confuse the two. We have never supported video output, nor have we ever claimed to be able to do so.

                      4. defult material is not what was set by style settings, it show up as wierd color, I dont know where it comes from
No, it does obtain it's color information from the style settings, but we don't support all Style information, only the front color and back color in the Face Settings under the Styles panel.

my previous file still can not be rendered, I tried all the debug tools, and clik the render, then processing the scean, then nothing happen. it will be great if this can be fixed, otherwise all the other features is meaningless.
I agree, if you can't render, the software is no good at all. The debug tools won't do any good unless you know what the problem is though. You need to check your error log to see what errors are going on. If none appear, it may be due to the component definition naming issue, or the imported images issue I mentioned previously. It's hard to say though. Either way, please don't troubleshoot this issue here, do it in the beta testing forum which you now have access to. Thanks We look forward to hearing your feedback!

Incorrect representation of Default Material? Are you not using 1.05.30 or older?

I've never seen any problems with Default material in the new version.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.
