  • Vray crashed down -Help!

    Hi,

I am using SU 2018 and most updated V-ray. It used to work fine, but very recently when I tried to render in Vray, it made my sketchup crash down every time after I click the render button. I unstalled and reinstalled Vray and restarted my computer, then render it again, it stopped a window popped up:
it says Vray neui has stopped working: A problem cause the program to stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Anyone knows how to solve it? Should I call Chaosgroup customer service if they are able to offer help?

I have a project due very soon, so anyone who could provide help would be much appreciative!
    Thanks.

    Hi,

Does the crash occur with specific project or any (even newly created ones)?

Could you open SketchUp's RubyConsole before opening the project and see if any errors/warnings are output when you use V-Ray?

Additionally, please provide the full specifications of the computer and the full version number of V-Ray (Extensions > V-Ray > Help > About)

      Hello,

It occurs with a specific project, I just tried another project and it looks fine. So probably it has to do something in that project? It seems like a component I downloaded from sketchup 3D warehouse, because when I just tried to render the single component file, it crashed.

I just tried to explode the component in the Sketchup file, but it still crashed. it is loading the process window so slow, instead of showing up the rendering process, it was all black and suddenly crashed.

      I use Vray for Sketchup 3.60.03, Build: 1517 V-Ray NeUI: 1.1.5 Build: 1517, Core version: 3.60.04, AppSDK Version: 1.24.02

      My computer is : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz, RAM 16.0gb
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

      Thanks!

Once i had that problem, and i discover that, some components converted from 3dsmax causes errors and shut down sketchup while render.. They slow down the sketchup itsef also..

Could you please share the project with us, so we can investigate in detail? If this is alright, you could send an archived copy (Extensions > V-Ray > Pack Project) via email or a file-sharing service of your choice to support@chaosgroup.com

Please reference this forum thread as well!

Thank you so much for your help! I have solved the problem, I think it is because a particular component I downloaded from SU 3d warehouse caused the crash. I deleted the whole component and it is back to normal now. Thanks!
