The IES files I can get never seems to be visually right in a render - nor does the LUX values look right in an light analysis render. So here is what I do. I calculate the average LUX value on a floor from 3 meters height - I tweek the IES paramtere untill the Light analysis render shows a LUX value close to my calculations. Because I want to make realistic Light analysis renders AND normal renders with the same parameters I here after tweek Camera settings so the real light looks as I know the real lighting would look like. This part can not be calulated - It´s only my experience kicking in.
When I have done this work with an IES file for a specified Luminiare I will export the asset for later use in other cases with the same luminiare. Importing this assest into a new case gives me the IES with the tweeks I made earlier in my assest window. BUT HOW DO I GET THE ASSEST INTO MY SCENE ?? Have tried to click an drag any way - but can´t seem to get it into my scene window. Feeling stupid in Denmark any ideas anyone ?
In attached scene I made the assest Light Deco spot, and afterwards imported the asset "Alaska" - but can´t get it into my scene.
