I am a fan of Vray and the quality of your products, I am already a user of Vray for sketchup MAC since version 2.

questions and impressions when testing VR5 and why I quit:

                    good:

                    1) new interface, redesigned, new way of working materials, rendering screen, VRFB, dome light - very good

                    2) study of intelligent lighting - internal and external

                    BAD

I liked everything, but why I uninstalled:

                    1) loss of textures and materials

                    2) slow interface to load

                    3) Rendering too slow to start

                    4) This Version is not yet optimized for OSX and MAC

I Love Vray - but I will wait for the final version and see if it is worth paying the Upgrade.

                    my system:

Imac Pro 2.3 GHz Intel Xeon W 18-Core

                    256 GB 2666 MHz DDR4

                    4tb Macintosh HD

Radeon Pro Vega 64X 16 GB

                    Catalina 10.15.7 (19H2)

                    To Chaos Group Team

                      Hi assisrc

Thanks for the detailed feedback. Please keep in mind that we are still in the beta stage and trying to eliminate as much issues as possible, which is why we value so much the input from users.
That being said, would it be possible to further discuss the following points:

                      1) loss of textures and materials - Can you answer the questions described in the following forum post? It will help us narrow down the cause and find a solution sooner. Thanks!

                      2) slow interface to load - Can you provide more details - how long does it take for everything to load? Are there significant differences compared with V-Ray Next for example?

                      3) Rendering too slow to start - Same as 2); how long does it take for the rendering to start? Does this happen with every project, or just a specific one?

                      4) This Version is not yet optimized for OSX and MAC - As mentioned above, this is a beta version and we are still currently working on the implementation in macOS by removing any issues with V-Ray (such as the VFB window parenting)

                      Looking forward to your reply!

                        Nikoleta,
Yes, I understand that they are still in the BETA version, I am trying to help deliver an incredibly good final version.
                        the answers:
                        1) ready project, blocks with textures and preliminary rendering tests, I closed the project and when I opened it to continue the work - 90% of the textures lost the setup; I remade everything and lost everything again.
                        2) Speed interface- take at least 2 to 3 times longer than the Vray next version 4.203 - in Realtime very slow, difficult to work with fluid form
                        3) when I start the rendering screen it takes a long time to load, and if I close it it reopens by itself and sometimes I clicked to start the rendering and nothing happened ... I had to restart.
on Vray4 this process is very fast.
                        4) see if you can enable RTX OSX - this card is very fast on the MAC - I work with other very heavy 3D programs and it works effortlessly.

                        5) I am available to help you in this step - I have a machine with a very strong configuration (in the mac environment) and I can help, it will be a pleasure!
