  • Is it possible to hide the base geometry of a scatter surface but keep the scattered geometry?

I am creating an ivy wall where the ivy grows along a particular path. I have a base surface that acts as the path the ivy grows on but I don't actually want that surface to render. I only need that surface there to act as the host for the ivy. Is it possible to show the scattered geometry in the rendering, but hide the base geometry? How would I do that?

Apply it a translucent material, or you can use exlude options to make it invisible..

in Maya, you can simply just hide the surface geometry, or you could apply a "skip rendering" attribute to the surface if you still want to see the geometry in the viewport, is that available to you in V-Ray for Sketchup?
