  • components and VRAY

As I have mentioned before, components are not rendering in VRAY. If I explode them they will render but often they lose their Cut Through property? Can this be resolved?

    Thanks

i have noticed this too. it doesn't happen with all materials though.
for me it only occurs with glass. is this what you're finding as well?

      Re: components and VRAY

i would like to emphasize this issue some more because sketchup relies on components and groups for complex 3d models so if vray isn't made to work correctly with components than it won't be very useful. Maybe i'm missing something, is there a setting that makes components render correctly? If not, i hope this will be addressed in the next release.
      thanks

This is an issue that should be addressed, but for now an easy fix is to save file, close sketchup, reopen and rerender...It should render all components just fine. No special setup needed.

thanks for that advice but how realistic is it to save close and re-open every time a setting is slightly adjusted. I am rendering a lot of glass and shadows on repetitive systems like curtainwall and its already time consuming to make it look right. Is this how everyone else has been working?
i would love a sign that this is going to be addressed in the next release.
