These maps look nice and usable if you want a little rough water. A small pool of water will have very smooth ripples. For that I use a procedural map, a map thats seamless and generated by the computer. (like the noise or clouds filter in photoshop).
I don't have Vray here at the moment, I will post a little example with the path to the bumpmap in Vray tonight when I'm home again.
This is cool. Another learning experience! I didn't realise this existed in vray (!), I must have skipped over this one in the manual (?). I've just tried it out and think its great - I will be adding water to my scenes from now on, when the opportunity arises (we don't tend to 'do' water much in Britain - too much of it drops on us anyway!)
Those noise maps are prety usefull for all kinds of things. Like noise in reflection, noise in color (like grass with darker and lighter parts). Etc etc.
