  • Applying materials in Vray for Sketchup...

Only just getting to grips with VRay, so I'm hoping this question is straightforward.

I've built a model in Sketchup & am trying to apply VRay materials as explained in the manual... I right-click on a face, but don't get the 'VRay for Sketchup' option in the menu ... what am I doing wrong?

Apologies again if this is a simple mistake

Re: Applying materials in Vray for Sketchup...

As far as I understand the latest version automatically puts any sketchup material applied to the vray material editor. The right_click method is gone. But as you can see from the screen shot I have 2 materials in sketchup but it does not translate to the vray material editor.

Any one encountered this kind of a problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Messed around with the program a bit more... managed to import VRay materials that were translated into the Sketchup Materials.

Still a lot to learn I guess!

Hope this is what you mean...

In the VRay Material Editor, right-click on Scene Materials & select Import New Material. Then navigate to any vismat files you've downloaded & they will appear as materials in your Sketchup Materials window.

Excuse me, if I get you wrong...
Vray materials show up in sketchups' own material window? How did you do it?

The coming Service Release will do that.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.
