Oops - sorry. When you said about 'exploding' the image, I realised I had explained it incorrectly. I've now revised the explanation! (see above) Sorry for the confusion.

ok well i have tried everything in the world! my guess is that some plugin is getting in the way or maybe a virus or a bug. well anyways im about to give up on this but if any of you guys have 5 min on your hands and feel like helping someone out i uploaded everything here -> http://www.2shared.com/file/3626915/f552345a/model.html it's all zipped together, the model, the fireplace picture, and the example. maybe someone out there will be kind enough to attempt this for me. that's pretty much my last hope. feel free to roam around my house =) ant thanks to anyone that has been trying to help me =) very appreciated -peter

I've had a look at your model and image and will do you a step by step tut, but first you need to adjust the image (of the fireplace) in your photo editor (PS etc) to correct the persective and also crop it (although this last is not essential it makes it easier in the next steps).

No problem!

I also realise (and this is now a problem generally), that you may be using the earlier vray release (i.e. not SR1) so I've added extra steps. It all works, believe me!

ok im wondering if anyone has ever been able to render a material that has been stretched using the pins? or is there just no way to do that. it just renders as a non-stretched material. (see above pics) i reinstalled both v-ray and sketchup, and updated vray too and i still cannot render the material. if you have been successful in doing this, please please PLEASE let me know. =) thank you
