  • glass mat - reflection prob.

    Hi everybody

I will have few technical material based qustions – basicly about glass mat.

    So here we go ....

    I will start with cofig.
    XP sp 2 - SU 7.0.8657 and V-ray 01.05.03

So problem we do have it this if I use „default“ Glass.vismat or nerly same glass_architectural.vismat ( setting pic-
http://aa.vslib.cz/viktor.tonner/archi_data/setting.jpg) from your great web on solid object like a window – I mean „normal“ box (2 faces = 4 sides ) both side are orieted from inside out – „front face is on outer side – you can not see reflections on surfaces behind this glass object – doors ... as you can see on pic. 001 http://aa.vslib.cz/viktor.tonner/archi_data/pic001.jpg – and on pic 002 http://aa.vslib.cz/viktor.tonner/archi_data/pic002.jpg – where some of faces are off you can see demanded reflection

Only solution, we found, is use of single face „window“, but this mostly endes with problem of „blue“ faces behind – see pic 003 http://aa.vslib.cz/viktor.tonner/archi_data/pic004.jpg – but if is everithing maped on both side with same mat, it works ... but to check and map compex archiectural model this solution do not work well

Final resolt – 1 face object – glass.vismat on both sides IOR=1.00 http://aa.vslib.cz/viktor.tonner/arc...ic005final.jpg looks OK on this picture .. but it is not uneversally useful

I tryed every possible setting – in material one – trasp/trans ...did not helped ? ???

Is there any trick to solve this? ???

    THX

yea, that setting has had me puzzled some times as well. I forget to check that.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.
