    Re: MADO setting

Hate to bring up an old thread but, using the Madoext. setting as well as an HDRI in the environment slot doesn't produce Sketchup shadows. I am using SU7 Pro, and the latest release of VFSU. Any ideas??

      Re: MADO setting

If you use an HDRI both for the GI and the BG, and using physical camera- the shadows won't be sharp but will be vague (very soft)

Thanks 40th!, I had physical camera on but searching further in the forums I found that resetting the sky would make the sketchup shadows sync with Vray. I hope this helps anyone searching for this same answer.

IAmarchitecture, I would be very interesting in your settings if you manage to use an environment HDRI on an exterior scene without 'blotching'. I could never really get it to render clean.

Hey edonk! I will try a quick render on a project from school to test it out. Check back soon.

              Re: MADO setting

Here's a quick render - I used MadoEXT along with an HDRI in the environment.
              Environment HDRI multiplier is 40
              Background HDRI multiplier is 50
I see what you are saying about the blotching.
I haven't yet tried to render this at a high resolution, might fix blotches?? :-\

Here's one with a different HDRI.

I think you need to take the blend multiplier down on the HDRI even further. Even when Ive had 99%-1% Ive still had blotching. I just dont think they have ever resolved the problem properly to be honest, but hopefully the next release has.
HDRI is pretty essential for good looking exteriors. If you manage it let me know bud!
