That said, if you're talking about upgrading to 6GB RAM then you must be running Vista or Windows 7 beta? Everything I've described above relates to 32bit XP- I have zero experience of any other Operating Systems.
Doesn't have to be Vista or W7, it just had to be 64bit.

I thought that was pretty obvious, I don't know anyone running 64 bit XP Pro. My point was that my advice only applies to 32 bit XP, I've no idea how or if it applies to any other OS.

Almost all of our machines are XP 64 here in the office. All of our servers are XP 64. My machine at home that I built a few years ago is XP 64. I'm not really sure where it got this bad wrap, but I love XP64 just as much as XP. I haven't had any issues with drivers. In fact, I was surprise when I printed at school just fine. I don't necessarily have that many peripherals though.

I never jumped on the XP64 because I heard so many issues with drivers. But since Vista 64bit driver support has generally been good.

It really depends on what are the drivers that you need. Honestly I really don't care if some crazy random audio card only made for eccentric rap producers off the coast of Madagascar has a driver for XP64...I care about whether the stuff that I use has the drivers. All your video cards are really going to be a solid bet on drivers. I also think that most printers from major manufacturers have solutions out there as well. Check around because Vista still has a very different feel than XP and some people (ie Me) would still rather work on XP.

BTW Jackson, Micha uses XP 64 as well, so you know 2 people
