Re: Problems with the installation of New Vray - missing toolbars

    Hi all.
    I found a solution!!!!!

You need to modify the .rb script like previously reported... but you need to modify another file:

inside all users application data folder.. then inside asgvis\vfs\ you can find init.py
Edit this phyton file with a text editor.. and here you will see at line 12 another path to change according your windows localization!
After that.. you can run again su7 and you will find the toolbar!!!!
Obiously you need to start the license before use it

oh my... I thought we had done away with the rest of the hard coded paths... -sigh- Thanks for finding that, I'm fixing it right now. This still should only effect Windows users though, not Mac.

Okay, I just added that change, so now we will have that fixed in the next beta build we put out.

Re: Problems with the installation of New Vray - missing toolbars

          Hi there,
I have the same problem - I have the most recent version (1.48.66) of vRay for SketchUp (academic licence) installed on my Mac (running OS X 10.6.3 Snow Leopard). I had the toolbar, but then vRay crashed, and after restarting, the toolbar's gone missing. I tried reinstalling several times, but that didn't help. I can access vRay via the plugins menu, but I'd like to have my toolbar back! Paid lots of money, and now this!
          Any help'd be appreciated!
          Thanks,
          Niels

PS: I use the English version - and all else on my machine is in English. So, it can't be a problem with translations etc.

Re: Problems with the installation of New Vray - missing toolbars

Hello, the next patch is still in beta, and is being tested by a number of users. If you would like to download the latest beta and see if it fixes your problem, sign up to be a beta tester.
(be aware that this is still in beta, so there are still bugs with this version)
            http://forum.asgvis.com/index.php?topic=7679.0

Otherwise, when the patch becomes stable enough for release, you can download it then.

Re: Problems with the installation of New Vray - missing toolbars

              Hi,
just to complete the list of files with hardcoded path ("Application Data"):
              %Google Sketchup Plugins Dir%\vfs.rb
              %Application Data Dir%\ASGVIS\VfS\init.py
              %Application Data Dir%\ASGVIS\VfS\init.pyc
              %Application Data Dir%\ASGVIS\Python26\Lib\site-packages\ASGVIS\visutils.py

              Ciao
