  • Night Club lighting

    Hey all,

Im doing a little project at the moment for a refurb of a nightclub. I've been playing around with lighting on it but i've been tending to add all the colour lighting to give the 'nightclub' effect in photoshop. Does anyone have any tips for getting this kind of lighting effect in Vray.

    Many thanks

    Re: Night Club lighting

Its hard to say without knowing more about the materials and lighting sources used in the design, but I would Use emissive materials for lighting effects on signs, or any type of strip lighting you would find underneath bar tops or on steps and then add some plane lights to give an overall ambient feel. You will have to probably select a color for them and anticipate what feeling/mood you want to create and make these lights subtle (enough to just illuminate a little but still let the emissive effects pop in the scene). Then add things like light beams and lense flares in photoshop because its much easier to create a believable effect in there. Hope this helps and makes sense.

I did a nightclub project recently...check this out and see if any of the examples help you make sense of what Im trying to say. Watch the animation too, because theres a lot more to see there that may help[ you.

@Steeler. Great use of V-Ray in your project. The emmissive lights are wonderful. Seeing them used like that really opened many doors.

      Thanks!

            Re: Night Club lighting

            impressive animation, buddy!
it's a rather tough task to set up a good scene in a dark environment.
there are many glossy and reflective surfaces, which spread the little light

so, apart from proper lighting, it surely is very important is it to define the right materials.
