  • DOUBT ABOUT PHOTOMATCH OUTPUT

    hi people...
i come here with another question... :P
in the past version of vray for sketchup, when i wanted to render a photomatched sceene, i used to set an output size that was exactly the same of the matched photo( for example, if the original photo's size is 1000 x 500, i used to set that same size in the output), that way, after i rendered, i used to go to photoshop and there was no need to scale (and therefore distort) the render... it just used to fit exactly on the background image...
yesterday i rendered a sceene, and i set the output to the exact size of the original photo, but when i have the final render, eventhough the size is the one i set, proportion is different and i had to scale...
is there a way to just set some output, and get a final render that matches exactly with the original background photos?...
let's say for example that i just want to make a photomatch of a window... i import the photo that i want to use for the photomatch, i adjust the photomatch, and then i just render with the same output size of the original photo... in the past version (that was really cool), the pure render of the window used to fit exactly on the original photo...
please, let me know if i am being clear or not
and thank you in advance for your time ;D

        Re: DOUBT ABOUT PHOTOMATCH OUTPUT

I could never get the very first VfSU matched up without fiddling about in PS.

With 1.05.30 I had no problem, just needed to align the output with the background photo.
(There was a release before 1.05.30 - 1.74.00, which I thought behaved the same as 1.05.30...)

I made a plugin that helped me match up SU output and VfSU output with less editing: http://forums.sketchucation.com/view...15491&p=119728
With the lastest version, 1.48, you don't have to adjust the zoom any more.

btw, can you post screenshots of what you tried in your original post? the photomatched image and your render?

                Re: DOUBT ABOUT PHOTOMATCH OUTPUT

HERE IT IS... IT'S NOT THE SAME SCEENE THAT I WAS DOING, BUT THE PROBLEM REMAINS... final render is smaller than the photo...
in the other version, when i rendered an image with the same size and proportion of a picture, the render used to fit exactly on the photo...

                  Re: DOUBT ABOUT PHOTOMATCH OUTPUT

Use the Get View Aspect button and match the render output with the SU viewport. Then overlay and center the image in PS - cropping away the excess.

                    Re: DOUBT ABOUT PHOTOMATCH OUTPUT

... ook, i tried that last thing, but it didn't work... maybe i missunderstand you...
i hit the get view aspect button, i select the sceene that i want, but i'm not sure about what the SU viewport is...
i used the same size of the original photo and it was still smaller...

                      Re: DOUBT ABOUT PHOTOMATCH OUTPUT

Click the "Get View Aspect" button and set the height to match your photo.
When you take it into PS and place your render centered over your photo it should match up.

                        Re: DOUBT ABOUT PHOTOMATCH OUTPUT

                        thankyou very much Thomthom
it's a little more accurate, but it still does not fit...
i truly don't understand why... i guess i will just move to the newest version of vray...
                        i've heard that it's better now :P
