  • Rendering an interior query

Hi Guys. Just a quick query. I am designing an apartment for a client and would like to do some renders for him. My question is will my renders take longer if I have materials and furniture in other rooms? Basically does VRAY just calculate what is on screen or does it take into account the model as a whole and if so is it better to have seperate models for each room?

    I hope that makes sense

    Thanks

    Re: Rendering an interior query

Hello, it depends in your project, an apartment or aparments?, But what you can do its create layers of those furnitures, the workflow its easier and you actually hide geometry if you are going to render a scene but you have other spaces with furnitures but they dont appear in your scene you just hide them with layers. for example you have to render a room of the apartment you dont need to have the furnitures of the livingroom active you can hide those with layers.

Im not to good with english hopefully you understand.

also, if you have lots of geometry in the scene, SketchUp is going to hold that geometry in memory, so depending upon the scene, it's sometimes helpful to only have what will be in a given render, in a particular scene.

Im only learning and not sure, but if you use a layering convension then I suppose you could create a hidden layer, turn it off and put everything out of view in that. But I suppose you have to be carfull that what you turn off dosnt effect the result of your rendering - shadows and lighting etc...
