  • Need help importing vismat materials

Ok, so I downloaded the vismat material collection - now what? I'm figuring it should be as easy as importing a new material from the folders (I see .jpg's & .vismat formats though?). When I import & apply the .jpg to my model and render it, the color seems correct, but none of the reflection, diffuse, ect... seems to be applied. It's just, blah. I'm on a Mac and wondering if this is only good for the windows version? Any other suggestions? I should say that I am new to Mac, as well as Vray, but consider myself pretty proficient in Sketchup overall (for Windows). Can anyone help me?

Re: Need help importing vismat materials

There's an issue with texture paths in the current version. If the path specified in the material doesn't exist on your machine, the diffuse color texture will disappear. It should be fixed in the latest beta. Also, by "vismat material collection" are you referring to the zip file of materials that is offered on the Visual Dynamics website (vray.com)? I'm just curious about where this collection came from. There's a few floating around, and none of them are from us.

Hi, The Vray.com material collection came from us. I sent those material to them, I did know they were going to publish them, in fact they did not asked for permission to post them.

          Hi,

I need help regarding downloading VISMATS from Chaosgroup site. Is there a way I can download THE ENTIRE COLLECTION of vismats on the site rather than downloading them one by one? It will save all a great deal of time if this could be done. Thanks.

Any help/ pointers in this regard would be greatly welcome. Thanks again !
