So Slow!

I installed the 01.48.89 version but something is not right. It was flying through everything even the renders but now the simplest task takes forever. I have a decent new pc with 3gb of ram and the SU model file is tiny (5mb), just a modest residence with no trees or cars or people.

I'm disapointed.

maybe somethings not right. do you have any rectangular lights installed in the scene? or materials made from the previous version(1.05)?

No, the latest beta is .96 - latest public is .89.

Can you post a screenshot of your render?
What are some of the render settings you use?
Do you by any chance use IR and Detail Enhancement on?

maybe it's the same thing, but doing simple things like Renaming a material, or Removing a material, takes FOREVER. so many bugs...!

No - that was a workaround for the older VfSU versions.

we are working on trying to find what is causing the material editor slowdowns. We have sped it up in some cases, but renaming is still a bit slow. The beta is free to sign up for and try if you're interested, we're always looking for fresh feedback. The more we are able to fix in the beta, the better our public releases will be!
