2D Plants

im wondering...how good does a 2d plant look in a render, what did you recomend men.
I want to know how people make those backgrounds without any HDRI... HELP

For a background, I would just do the work in Photoshop in post process because you'll have more control on fading it out due to atomspheric perspective. You could use 2D Billboard trees and set them low in contrast. I wouldnt use 3D trees for a background. Its not worth adding all that geometry to your model file.
