  • glass material poor rendering

    hi everyone,
i just exported a model from archicad as a 3ds file and imported it into sketchup. when i try to render it, the glass material is rendered in a strange way. i don't know what i've done wrong, but when i check the material editor and preview the material, it's alright. here is post a test rendering so that you'll be able to see what i mean by "strange".
i don't think it's because of archicad export translator. because i rendered another model which was exported the same way and it's rendered as it i expected it to.

thanks in advance for your help

    Re: glass material poor rendering

looks like double faces, by this i mean when 2 objects/groups have planes/faces overlapping. If you investigate the model you should find them, also it appears everywhere, so its a very poor model or you have prehaps copied the model in twice, meaning every face has duplicates, thus giving you a bad render,

    hope this helps

Sometimes, when importing 3ds, faces are in weird positions - that would explain double faces with glass
