I'm curious as to the specifics behind the "goal" slider for swarm? It would seem, the higher I move the slider, the more resources I get for my local rendering. However, when a simultaneous rendering is taking place, the behavior is odd. Some examples:
-when I'm rendering via swarm, but the only one rendering network wide and my slider is set to 50%, I only use 50% of the available computers. The rest are doing nothing.
-Just now, my swarm is set at 100%, my coworkers was at 80% and I was getting 100% of the resources, and him, nothing.
-When we switched it to so we are both at 50%, he gets 50% of the power, but what if we add a third coworker rendering? Do we have to coordinate and then drop it down so all percentages add up to 100%?
Im my opinion, I think it would be most useful as a toggle switch with 2 positions: normal and high priority. On normal, all resources are evenly divider per number of renderings currently happening (ie if its just me, I get 100%, if its 2 people, we each get 50%, etc). If its set to "High Priority" then I get 100% no matter what (and this could be controlled by admins via the swarm web ui).
Thoughts?
