  • New GUI MultiMat

When I create a proxy, I need to create a multi-Material Where I can connect materials to this geometry.

Usually, you always need to change the texture tiling to correctly combine with UV mapping in the proxy.
Now this is done in the material settings, you need to check each map (a lot), while the material in the preview will be forced to be displayed is not clear (deranged scale).
In the settings of the materials of SketchUp, you can increase the size of the texture, but this does not solve the problem of incorrect preview. And it is impossible to make two or more tiling for the same texture on different proxies.
Is there something similar like the handmade screenshot, the solution? If not , you have to invent it.

    Hello, Aleksey,

You can set up UV mapping prior to creating the Proxy .vrmesh file and it will preserve the mapping info.
If the Proxy file is being created in SketchUp, object mapping can be set through SketchUp's own material editor (texture size control) as well as the Context menu V-Ray UV tools(https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...ContextSubmenu)

Furthermore, a Multi-material is automatically created upon Proxy file import. The placeholder materials slotted within are there only as a visual guide to which faces they are applied on. Even when you substitute them, the inherited mapping from the .vrmesh file will apply.
The material preview model (shader ball) size is a few centimeters big to make subtle changes to some material parameters more noticeable. This is why large-scale values may sometimes look unclear/deformed.

Right now our developers are actively working on UI improvements for the next major release. There is no planned solution which would allow multiple textures' simultaneous placement adjustment, however, further down the road something similar will be explored.
I've logged your feedback for further reference.

    Kind regards,
    Peter
