Exif data

When a render is saved, wouldn't it be cool if the resulting image file had something like Exif data? like, what shutter speed was used, f-number, iso, etc. maybe even render time and more stuff like that; not sure if exif would accept that kind of data.

Sounds like a good idea, but isn't EXIF only relevant to jpegs & camera raw formats? I'd wonder what kind of info can be saved in the exr and vrimg formats relative to the camera settings.
