Let's I have a leaf material applied to a plant.
But that material is a generic one. I want to add translucency to it. So I need to wrap it into a new TwoSided material and swap them in the model.
Same if I want to make a material emissive, carpaint, SSS, VRscan, etc. We have to create a new material and replace the old one in the model. This is quite tedious.
What if we could right-click on a material and change its type? Just like in 3dsmax.
Ideally parameters that can be translated are kept, but I think it doesn't matter if we loose all parameters and end up with a blank material.
Alternatively, an option to wrap the current material in a new Blend, Bump, TwoSided, Toon, MultiMaterial, Override or Wrapper, and automatically replace it in the model.
