Will help you monitor your GPUs way better than TM (you can customize your fans, voltage, clocks etc)!Regards,

This is old news btw, this is been the case since 2015
http://bfy.tw/MOg9
After filling your 9 GB on a 1080Ti, you will get an error"Cannot allocate enough memory"
This happens with any renderer, not just Vray and with other cards..
Are you using Nvidia GPUs at all?
If so, clone any geometry with Vray GPU on your cards, and take a screenshot of GPU-z showing more than 9 GB used..
About the 5 GB, this is for a project that is taking 64 GB of RAM.. so what do you expect?

This exterior screen grab wasn't using GPU. It's showing 3%-11% used and 100% CPU. When I open my interior GPU scene I'll grab another screenshot.Bobby Parker

Max will not take up 5 GB of VRAM for GPU scenes..
and like I said, you can render with standalone and close Max if you want

I just rendered a 6K mammoth exterior with Forest Pro, Railcone, Walls & Tiles, DOF, and motion blur. I rendered it in a little over an hour on CPU. I want these speeds on my interiors, which is why I am going down the GPU path. My interiors were taking 4+ hours per still. On some recent interiors I was getting 4 hours on CPU, so I tried Hybrid for the first time and I got 1 hour times. Honestly, I was expecting a ton of errors, but everything worked great except my Walls & Tiles materials, which I just swapped out. With my second 1080ti I am hoping for 1/2 hour interior render times.Bobby Parker

Hopefully you can get your render times to like 30 minutes when you install the 2 new GPUs, this is really why many people have been investing in GPU rendering recently
And what is really cool about Vray is that you can still use your 2 CPUs in rendering.. Should be a massive speed boost really with bucket mode
At office we have 7x 1080tis in one render machine, any scene takes less than 15 minutes in 4k Res.. and I'm really happy with where Vray GPU stands now
If something is missing make sure to make a thread and see the Devs input!
btw, do you spend much time on the IPR? or do you use it at all?
the GPU IPR is quite fast and you can use Optix denoiser for lighting and shading.. this workflow has been very nice as I tend to spend time tweaking things.

Yes, I use IPR all the time when setting up my scenes. I couldn't imagine going back to pre-IPR.Bobby Parker

Use Display port on one of your 1080tis.. if I understand what you mean correctly
The card you use for monitor, is what is being used for viewport performance, you don't want a 1030 for 3Ds Max viewport..
