Yeah, I thought through all of that. I want to keep it as simple as possible.

    • I just got off of chat with DELL. My machines has a PSU extender card, which will get me two more 8-pins. He is sending me to the cable I need.

      • Hopefully it is not a splitter, but I'm not sure what they mean. Let me know how it goes.
Splitters will crash GPU rendering and affect the GPU in a bad way.. All 8 pin cables to the GPUs should be separate

              • Bullshit results to say the least
Titan black is like 4 times slower than a 2080ti
stick to Octane bench scores, Vray benchmark.. they are quite accurate

                • Dell don't know what they are talking about, you need 2 separate 8 pin cables from the PSU
Cannot be a splitter from a single 8 pin cable..
They probably are not familiar with mulit-GPU setups, add the cheap ass unbranded and unrated power supply they used on a 10k Dual Xeon machine
Not surprising really.. you should stick to Maingear for your Next build
LTT did a secret shopper series with Dell, HP, Maingear and others, it was a gaming setup for 1500 USD, but you get the point
                  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsfjx5T46Zk
This is where they reviewed tech support, if you don't have time to watch basically Maingear solved the issue in 13 minutes, they clearly know what they are doing
Dell took over 70 minutes and the representative was clueless.

                  • The machine is built for three double wide high end cards, so I’m assuming they have it configured to work. I don’t think it’s a splitter, they are calling it a card extender.

                      • The extender will cause stability issues, but you can test it.. In the video it was 2 quadros with one 8pin cable each

                        • Random thought on the Titan RTX, Bobby: since it's not a blower model you'll likely have to have an empty PCI slot in between that and any other cards. So you're limiting yourself a bit but it's probably fine. Two Titan's linked with a 3 slot NVLink would be pretty spiffy anyway, I doubt you'd ever want to go 4 Titans...although you never know!
