  • Not having much luck with VrayRT

    Hi,

Just testing VrayRT and am running into a couple of errors.

    1. I've notice VrayRT isn't using GI Depth and Tracing depth. OpenCL works correctly.

    2. When using CUDA I get the api error 999 and crashes the standalone Vray.

    Running Vray 2.30.02 on Windows 7 64bit.

I've only tested it on one scene so its possible the scene is the cause.

    cheers

Fixed number 2. I had and incompatible constant mental ray shader that hadn't been converted over.

    cheers

      Hi,

About point one, does it make any difference in the active shade render if you change GI depth to "0"?
In this way GI should be off.

Depth on "0" looks the same as 20 GI Depth using Active and production VrayRT CPU.
BTW Cuda now renders the correct Depth.

        cheers

Some weird things are happening when playing with the raybundle.

Do you have GI enabled when you render with RT CPU (production mode)?

Can you show the RT settings or send us the scene to test in our environment ?

Here's a screen grab, here you can see both have the same settings just changing from CPU to CUDA

Do you have Max lights in the scene ?
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

It looks like the first image doesn't have GI.
Make sure sure that you have GI "ON" when you render with CPU engine.
                    GPU always use GI.

If you still have problems with this scene you can send it to test it in our environment.

That was it, I didn't realise VrayRT still used some of the Vray 's controls, hmmm.

                      All working now, thanks.
