  • Can RT support 4096 res textures?

I saw that the biggest texture size is 2048 res.

Is this a CUDA limit or RT engine limit?

Shouldn't be a problem, I Use HDRI's much larger than that.

I know I can use 4096 but it reduces them to 2048.
Thus, it cannot support 4096 res textures.

Have you set the setting to use full map ress in RT?

There's no limit to the resolution if you choose to use full resolution maps.

            Of course I did.
Except if something else causes the issue in the images below.

For your info the circular thing with the problem, has displacement, to give the filling of a sticker.

Would be best to get us a scene to support@chaosgroup.com so that we can see what else is going on. From my own tests, textures larger than 2048 render just fine, so maybe there is something else in the scene...

                I have sent the scene
The file is 19mb, as I forgot to remove some useless textures.
If there is any problem with the size I will send it again smaller.

V-Ray needed more precise displacement calculation on the edge. Decreasing the Edge length to 3 fixed it.

                    Yes, you are right.
Actually to remove the issue completely with CUDA as rendering hardware I have to put the Edge Length to 2.0

                    But that wasn't the question.

The question is, why with CPU rendering hardware I do not have this issue at all?

It does, in fact. But it's very good at hiding it.

                        Ok thats something.

Is it a problem to you if you explain, how is "hiding" that?
                        I will be grateful
